Alan has worked in Financial Services for 28 years. He is a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society as well as holding the CII’s Certificate in Mortgage Planning and Equity Release.

For the last five years he has worked as a freelance training consultant designing and delivering training covering a wide range of areas such as exam preparation, induction of new to role high net worth financial advisers, the introduction of a new Inheritance Tax planning proposition, assisting with the development of a Business Protection training and testing module and Anti Money Laundering and Sanctions workshops.

Alan has designed and delivered workshops to help people prepare for CII exams at all levels. He has regularly delivered workshops in all R0 subjects as well as AF1, AF4 and AF5. He also prepares a case study analysis document for candidates taking the R06 examination. He has also prepared candidates for IFS examinations

He has delivered exam preparation workshops for clients such as the major high street banks, insurance companies, the CII as well as for external training providers such as Verridian and Doran Scott Williams.

Prior to this he fulfilled a number of roles in the Learning and Development department at Friends Provident. This included supporting the company’s protection proposition (including business protection) and developing area office staff and financial advisers in areas such as investment and Inheritance Tax planning

Alan is highly motivated, positive, enthusiastic and an experienced communicator with excellent interpersonal, organisational and management skills.

His delivery and leadership style is customer focused, personable, patient and creative. He has designed a wide variety of training materials and delivered individual development at all experience levels.
